If you believe you have been exposed to HIV, or if you are seeking information about PEP (Post-Exposure Prophylaxis), do not use this contact form, please do the following:
Do you think you may have been exposed to HIV in the last 72 hours (3 days)? If so, you may be eligible for PEP. PEP is a medication you can take if you are currently not living with HIV and believe you have been exposed to the virus. If taken as directed, PEP can stop HIV from infecting your body. It is safe, with little or no side effects. For PEP to work, the first dose must be taken within 72 hours (3 days) of possible exposure. Because of this, it's important that you seek medical care as soon as possible if you think you have been exposed to HIV.
PFY offers free PEP screenings, in person or via phone, Monday-Friday between 11 am- 7 pm. Staff can also assist you by providing direct transportation support, escorting you to the medical office, and talking with the doctor about your individual needs. Since it is important to access PEP as soon as possible, always be sure to speak with a live person when you call. DO NOT LEAVE A VOICEMAIL! After hours, on holidays or weekends, go to your local hospital emergency room and ask for PEP.
